Bharti Telesoft, the
leading provider of integrated VAS solutions for mobile operators in emerging
markets, has won the prestigious Golden Peacock Innovation Award 2008 for its
pioneering work in the field of mCommerce -
specifically for its Monet Hub solution, which provides a simple to use
global mobile money transfer solution.
Bharti Telesoft’s Monet
Hub, part of the mobiquity™ suite of mCommerce solutions, is a cross-network
remittance platform enabling remitters and beneficiaries on different mobile
networks to send and receive monies via the mobile phone. The Monet Hub mobile
remittance platform interlinks standalone mobile wallet systems deployed on
specific networks, creating an inter-exchange hub that allows secure and instant
multi-language and multi-currency money transfers between partner mobile
operators around the world.
“This award is a
significant recognition of the value we are bringing to the mobile community via
our mCommerce products. We have received an overwhelming response to our efforts
for Monet Hub solutions from our customers and have generated substantial
business in the region,” commented Mao Mohapatra, CEO, Bharti Telesoft.
“As the migrant
population continues to expand, the need for easy, affordable trans-border
financial services grows – and we see the mobile phone as the best way to enable
these. We are especially pleased that Golden Peacock has honored us for the
second year running with the award for innovation and recognizes the enormous
value that our Monet Hub solution brings to the mobile community,” elaborated Mohapatra.”
India’s Institute of
Directors introduced the Golden Peacock Awards in 1991 and these awards are now
considered as the greatest recognition of corporate excellence in areas of
quality, innovation, training, governance, environment management and corporate
social responsibility. This is the only award, which has meticulously defined
and transparent selection criteria and is determined by a highly elaborate and
independent assessment process.
