HP announced Balu Doraisamy's appointment as
the Managing Director for Asia Pacific Japan and Senior VP for the Technology
Solutions Group (TSG). Doraisamy succeeds Tom Iannotti who has returned to the
USA to assume the role of MD, Americas.
Doraisamy begins his new role immediately and
will be based in Singapore. He has more than 23 years' experience with HP, most
recently as MD of HP India. In that role, he and his team have driven key
programs in India which have accelerated growth and delivered outstanding
performance for HP.
In his APJ MD role, Doraisamy will be
responsible for continuing the focus on creating value for our customers and
profitable growth together with the region leadership team.

Doraisamy previously served as the MD of
Compaq Computer India, where he led Compaq as the top IT vendor position in the
domestic market. Before this assignment, he was based in Singapore for nine
years where he managed the Asia Pacific Global Accounts business in Digital and
Compaq. He joined Digital Equipment Corporation, USA, in 1984 as Senior
Technology Consultant, based at Nashua, NH.
He holds a post graduate degree in Computer
Science and a master's degree in Mathematics.
